Meet the group at Rome city centre at 7:30 in the morning and depart to Naples (pick-up can be arranged also from hotels in Rome centrally located). Upon arrival in Naples, your tour leader will take you for a walking tour of the historical centre to admire Piazza del Plebiscito, the Royal Palace, the Gallery of Umberto I, and the San Carlo Opera House. After lunch in a typical restaurant with Neapolitan specialities (included), leave the city and continue to Pompeii for a guided tour. Visit the excavations of Pompeii, the ancient Roman city that was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. This archaeological journey through the ancient city will allow you to better understand the way Romans used to live at that time. Then visit a coral and cameo factory where you have the opportunity to admire and purchase items made with a technique dating back to ancient Greek times. Transfer to Sorrento, famous for its picturesque old town centre and characteristic fisherman’s village of Marina Grande, one of the most authentic treasures of the city. Check-in at the hotel, and dinner. Overnight in Sorrento.
In the morning, enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing at 07:30 am to the island of Capri. Meet the guide and sail to Capri by hydrofoil. Once on the island, enjoy a boat trip to the Blue Grotto (weather permitting). A minibus then takes you up to Anacapri, where you’ll have lunch (included). Then reach the famous Piazzetta, the heart of the island. After that, check-in at the hotel and then an afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Anacapri.
Your breakfast at the hotel is followed by a day at leisure in which you can explore Capri at your own pace. Then rendezvous in your hotel lobby and at 02:30 pm sail back to Sorrento and transfer from the pier to Pompeii to board the bus going to Rome. You’ll be dropped off in Rome at around 09:00 pm at Viale Washington, Viale Luigi Einaudi, Termini Station Area, or Via Ludovisi. From here you may continue with your travel arrangements.
